Jason Hall founded RiDetroit in 2018 when he discovered electric bikes and saw their potential. He partnered with American Cycle & Fitness, at the time, the largest Trek bike retailer in the United States, to open Electric Avenue Bikes, the only eBike-only bike shop in the city of Detroit. In 2022, Trek Bicycle bought American Cycle & Fitness and Jason now manages the Trek Bicycle Midtown Detroit Store at the same location.

Many people know Jason as the co-founder and former President of Slow Roll Detroit. This friendly bike ride turned into an international phenomenon when thousands of riders started turning out each Monday. After Jason was contacted by Apple and featured in their iconic Superbowl commercial, Slow Roll bike rides began in cities around the country and around the world.

Jason is a bike advocate who has spoken before crowds around the world about building community through cycling. He has been a TEDx speaker in Detroit and other cities. He filmed several videos for Pure Michigan, featuring different areas in the state and the ad he filmed for Trek Bicycles is moving and powerful.

During Covid lockdown when tours were not possible, Jason interviewed local and international artists who created the murals in Eastern Market live on Instagram on Murals in the Market Live. He also took advantage of this downtime to launch the RiDetroit YouTube channel with content that includes a weekly podcast interviewing locals about everything bikes, city planning and everything in between, along with regular e-bike reviews and pro-tips, and even commentary on Detroit’s pizza scene.

Above all else, Jason is passionate about getting someone who never believed they could ride a bike, cruising around on an eBike. Whether it’s the city streets or the trails in the suburbs, he brings people together to ride bikes.

Jason has been honored with many awards for his work as a bicycle advocate and community ambassador, including the 2018 Gamechanger Award, 2018 Moving Forward Award, 2016 Governor’s Fitness Awards from the Governor’s Council of Physical Fitness, Health and Sports, and the Michigan Fitness Foundation, the Sierra Club's Green Cruiser of the year, 2014 Vanguard Award from the Detroit Young Professionals, The Best of Michigan Business Award as a marketing savant and  2014 D Show Ambassador Award from Adcraft.
